One of the first questions on a Lithuanian student visa file is the bank statement. Here is what is asked for, whose account it can sit in, and how we work through it with you.
The consulate asks for proof that you can support yourself during your studies. In practice applicants have been asked to show a balance from around 8 million centimes (80,000 MAD) upwards.
This is proof of funds, not a blocked deposit: the money stays available to you. The exact figure is set by the authorities and is reviewed periodically, so confirm the current amount before you prepare the statement.
The statement does not have to be in the student’s own name. Depending on your circumstances it can be provided by:
Which of these applies, and what supporting documents go with it, depends on the case — that is the part we work through with you.
Contact any of our offices and we will tell you exactly what your file needs.
Please note: Tuition, living costs and visa requirements vary by university, programme and academic year, and are set by the Lithuanian authorities and each institution. Always confirm the current figures with the university and the relevant consulate before you apply.
